Looking at getting a new 9mm this weekend. I have a Springfield field officer 45 and a Walther P22, but I'm looking for an 9mm polymer gun. Want something lighter, so that's why I want polymer.

I've owned a Glock 17 before and an xd9. Preferred the glock out of the two. I'm currently looking at the sig 2022, Glock 19, Springfield XDs, and the Walther PPX.

What sayeth the OB?

Looking to keep it at or under $500.

I like the Glock 19. No experience with the others, so cant say which is best.

My dad has an M&p9, he likes it but his hands are smaller than mine. I've shot it a few times and it was nice.

Is it relatively the same size as the Glock 19?

concealed carry. Wouldn't want to carry something that weighs anything close to my field officer.

If you go with a Walther please don't go with this one. The PPQ is a million times better.

All of the guns you listed aren't bad. I'm a diehard M&P guy so I'd suggest an M&P9 full size.

What's the purpose of this gun? Carry? Home defense? Recreation? Vehicle gun?

If you don't plan on carrying it, you're smart in getting a full sized. The only downside to a full sized gun is that it is less portable. It wins out in every other category.

Don't see a lot of Kahrs mentiones around here. I have a KelTec P32 that I've had since they first came out but F me if the Kahr CM-9 ain't about the same size. Or a PM9 if you want to spend more money

Purpose is a bit of a catch all. The Range Officer sleeps in the nightstand an is only shot at the range. I have the p22 for plinking and GDKC on the property and while fishing.

I will use the 9mm for a vehicle/recreational/potential CC gun. I figured something the size of the Glock 19 would kind of me a good compromise. I'm not against a compact like an xds (I could buy the 9 round mags for recreation and use the 7 round if I carry it).

For some reason I like the Glock 19 in my hand, but not the 26.

The M&P feels good too. is the M&P9 the same size as the 17 or 19?

All of that said, how hard is it to carry a full sized shell shucker like a M&P9?

Just for shits and giggles I tried to see if I could IWB my GP100 and it wasn't difficult to do it Mexican style. Seems like a full sized semi auto would be doable.

The Sig P320 is way better than the 2022

There are four I'd suggest you hold and see which fits you hand and eye the best:
S&W M&P
Sig P320
H&K VP9
Walter PPQ

The M&P is the only one in that list in my price range.

I picked up a PPQ at Cabelas one day

Forgot about Glock 19

And the Sig P320 is just a little over $500. Would be surprised if you found it for that price.

I paid $539 at academy for mine.
