80% lowers, are the worth the trouble?

I have a drill press, a good vice and a router and am slightly better than a functioning idiot.

I think if you are going to buy them, you just put them away as a just incase type of deal. I don't have any but if I did they would just go into storage.

i would just buy some Andersons for $60 each in that case.

That will be one of my first projects after I move back to the state in a few months. Going with a solid jig system and a router. Plan on doing a few AR15 lowers and a AR10 one.

I've done several. I didn't do it expecting them to be cheaper and I didn't do it for the lack of background check. I just thought it would be a fun project. I used the 80% arms easy jig. Takes about 2.5-3 hours per lower and isn't that difficult. Pretty easy actually with the easy jig and router. They have a nice promotion if you post a review of the jig system they will send you a free lower. The free lower is very nice.
