Got a new rifle today for the upcoming deer hunt. Got a Tikka rifle in 270WSM. Anybody have one of these rifles or caliber? Would like to hear your opinions on it if you do.

Short mags are an abomination. They offer no benefit other than a shorter throw of the bolt.

Give me the originals all day long.

Yep Browning Abolt. Im wondering if my scope is bad or what because i cant keep a zero on my rifle. Accurate when sighted in but missed 3 deer this year. I went shoot at a corn sack at over 100 yds and barely touched it the first shot, missed it second shot. I just shot it today and its back to zero. Could be the scope, the mounts , the case, or it could be me but I killed a doe with my muzzleloader that hit right where i wanted. I dont understand it. And I love the gun, I just wish it would stay zeroed.

Mine kicks like a mule even with the BOSS/muzzle brake. Not nearly like my muzzleloader but it has a punch. Ill throw a limb saver on it. Im thinking about getting a Sako 7mm Rem Mag. The kick is about the same but ammo is cheaper.

Usually this is true, but OP bought a Tikka which all have the same action size.

I grew up on the 270 win. I've killed tons of deer with it. I hunt these wide open clear cuts in south arkansas and sometimes I can see 600yds across a fresh cut clearing. Just wanted something with a little extra UMPH to it! I kept my old Browning A bolt 270 win. tho. Will never be without one.

FIL and MIL took theirs to kill an elk and a mule deer recently in CO. Great round.

I just got mine because of the similar ballistics to the .300. I have a .300 mag A-Bolt but its not very easy on my skinny arse.

FWIW, I have a T3 in .300wsm. I kinda wish I
I went with a normal .300 win mag. Oh well.

270wsm is much flatter shooting than a original 270. Mine ikes winchester silver ballistic tips. Can touch holes every shot.

What kind of scope and mounts do you have? If it's a cheap scope on cheap mounts atop a kicking rifle then there is no way it's gonna stay zeroed. I learned a long time ago when it comes to optics you need to bite the bullet and go the exspensive route. I know it hurts to shell out $500-$700 on a scope but once you own one of them you will never go back to cheap optics. I'm not saying you have cheap optics but 99% of the time when a gun won't stay zeroed it's because of cheap optics/mounts&bases.

I've got the hunter version of the same rifle.

Most accurate rifle I've ever shot personally. Trigger is great.

Ypull love it.

I've got one with a zeiss conquest on top and I've killed deer and hogs with it out to 200 yards. I like the round other than the cost of bullets.

I hope so! That's why I bought the thing! Lol. I have a regular 270. I got the 270wsm to get across those big clear cuts and still have some knockdown power left at 500yds.

270 win doesn't hold a candle to a 270 wsm. If you want to compare it to a 7mag thats a bit closer. But a 270wsm is faster and flatter

To the OP..I've got burris zee rings and a Redfield revolution scope. The rings are great and the scope is pretty good. But I'm ready to upgrade.
