I own a f250. I have not heard of premiums going up due to aluminum, but it's possible.

Meh

Do not want aluminum body panels on a work truck. Going to be epic the first time you drop the tongue of a gooseneck in the bed because you forgot to latch it, or drive it through a briar patch. Scratches and dents for all!

Why are we releasing a "2017" year model truck in 2015?

I already posted a video showing that the F150 aluminum bed is more durable than the steel bed. Why do you think the F250 would be any different?

Briar batch? Right, the current painted steel fairs much better.

Truck is not released nor will be released in 2015. It is bring announced. Same thing that GM and Dodge have done for years. Except Ford is the most popular and therefore has anticipation.

Eta, why would you not want a lighter, more durable, rust free bed on a work Truck? The fact that it saves over 700lbs means you can carry 700lbs more tools or get better mpg. Why 's any of that a bad thing? Did you not realize the aluminum bed is stronger than a steel bed?

Aluminum is far less scratch resistant than steel you'll get gouges where you used to have light surface scratches.

Weighs 700 pounds less than what? The steel body for the same truck it replaces? Some arbitrary truck body they picked to compare it to because it's obnoxiously heavy?

When was the last time you saw body rust on any vehicle built since the mid 90's? Rust is all but gone as a concern with body panels.

It's a marketing ploy like anything else to make you be cool with paying more for the truck.

Will not be purchasing as I plan to run my 2012 for a long time but I do like it. Looks like the one pictured is the Platinum edition, brushed grill with the holes in it, fold out running boards. Interested to see what the interiors look like and any powertrain changes/upgrades.

More pictures released this morning, including an interior picture.

At a field office today, so updates will be limited.

The 2015 f150 weighs 700lbs less than the exact same 2014 model. That's not an arbitrary number, but facts.

Must be a damn good marketing ploy, in 2018 GM trucks will have aluminium bodies too.

31's will be the maximum tire size without rubbing. 33's with a level.

I'm sure they didn't shave weight from anywhere else on the truck.

You're going to base this being a good thing on GM doing it 3 years from now?

Ford is the king of the upsell.

They have the best customer base on earth. The more Ford makes it cost, the more their customers want it. It's amazing.

My work continues!

Yeah, if GMs longterm goal is to copy Ford, Ford is doing something right. I don't see what you don't understand about that.

To the tire size comment. They come stock with 34" tires. I would hope that they could fit a larger tire than a 33" after a leveling kit.
