I agree. Why the hell do trucks these days come with A/C? I mean hell, roll you window down and get some fresh God given air that way. shite, don't get me started on power windows.
Is it necessary, no. But yall sound like the same people who probably criticized Edison for the lightbulb or Alexander Bell and the telephone.

You really think this is a good idea and worth the extra money they will charge for it?
I wouldn't give an extra dollar.

How much extra are they charging? I haven't seen any numbers yet. Have to know how much its valued at to know if its worth it.
And would I specifically look for one with this option, no. However, every single person who bashed this enjoys: A/C, power windows, power locks, radio, probably navigation, and possibly sunroofs.
How are any of the above any different?

Because there is already something on every truck that does this. The steering wheel. I don't need two A/C's or power lock buttons.

You're missing the point. I think a lot in this thread are. This is obviously not marketed at people that already know how to back up a trailer. This is meant for the younger generation that are 100k in debt buying a new F150 and 21' CC boat. Never towed before and sure as hell cannot back a trailer up.
Every amenity in your truck is to make driving easier. You had roll up windows before power windows. Who the hell needs that?
Take a 16 year old and tell him to use the mirrors to back up a trailer or tell him to use the new knob feature and I guarantee you that the knob wins every time (not even knowing how it works).

You specially order your trucks with no A/C and just roll the windows down when you get warm?

I'm in.
When my wife and I launch the boat, now I won't have to get the trailer set, let her take over, and climb into the boat.
Hope it goes on the F250 as well.

I have an idea. In my old truck I pulled the button to put the windows up. My new truck I push them. Maybe put two buttons that work opposite of each other. That way I can choose which one to use.

All bullshite aside. Ford needs to come up with a button to press that opens up a mini fridge and grabs you a beer. Hell yeah, I'd enjoy the frick out of that.

I bet a 16 year old that's never backed up a 21'CC center punches a concrete pole with both steering options.

Backup cameras are awesom, too, although I don't generally use them to backup or park.
They are awesome when hitching a trailer and anyone who says otherwise never skint a bumper doing it the old way.

Too many guys trying to prove they still have a pair in here. Its new technology and it scares them is the only other thing I can think of.
I don't understand sunroofs, even after having one, but you wont find me making fun of them either.

There used to be a car that had a refrigerated either center console or glovebox. I thought it was an incredible idea, but haven't seen it in another models and cant even remember what car it was originally.

The baby's car has a AC vent in the glovebox that she can turn off or on. Kinda neat.
As for the options, I'm for anything that makes the job at hand more efficient and saves time.

Yes I still have a pair
I do agree, the backup cameras make hooking up to a trailer easier. The mini steering wheel is not going to fix dumbass.

Exactly. Plus the cameras should be mounted to the sides of the truck not back. Pulling a gooseneck will make camera useless anyway. 4 wheeler trailers and boats it may work.

I can't wait to get a 2020 F150 that I don't even have to drive. Just plug in coordinates and it goes.

What car company? Hope this spreads to other brands.
Big, I agree 100%. Its much like the BLIS on new cars. Why have technology that helps one change lanes when there are 3 mirrors on every vehicle?
1. Safety
2. To make driving easier
