2016 Ford F-150 Has Mini Reversed Steering Wheel For Driving Backwards

You know how it gets confusing when you’re backing up a trailer, because physics? The 2016 Ford F-150 will have a tiny little steering wheel you’d use in conjunction with the backup camera, which would do the opposite of the real wheel while reversing.
When you’re backing up with something in tow, you’ve got to flip your brain around a little and take into account the fact that you’re vehicle is now really long with a hinge in the center. Ford’s Pro Trailer Backup Assist will make it seem like you’re “steering the trailer” directly, which you will monitor through the backup camera.

Basically engineering away difficulty for stupid people.

They should call it the Wife Wheel.

If you can't back up a trailer, you don't need to pull one. Nothing I hate more than waiting 15 minutes to launch because some jackass can't back down a launch 4 times the width of the trailer.

It makes for some great video, though. Seriously, get out and start video-taping it the next time it happens.

Proof that F150 drivers are vaginas.

This type of shite is why trucks cost $50k.

They should have shaped the knob like a penis and called it suck steer.

Proof that Ford is leading in truck innovation and technology.

But for real though, as big of a ford fan boy I am, I don't understand the need for this. I don't even understand what it does. So if I'm staring at the screen if I turn the steering wheel right does the boat:trailer turn to the right?

That is what I am thinking.
You could just turn the regular steering wheel the correct direction for free

Hello Ford. I tore off the front bumper and fender while watching the back end on the little screen and now you tell I was also supposed to be watching the front too

I don't know. Even backup cams screw with me. I'm used to everything being backwards in the mirror. That would take more practice than just learning with mirrors.

This option will probably also add $5k worth of chrome

I wonder how many people are going to smash into shite with the front of their truck because they are only looking at the screen.

My brain will simply not learn to use the backup camera.
If I make myself try to use it I go full retard and I have no idea what is going on.
