I just saw that hobie is making some changes to the outback, sport, and revolutions for 2015. Mainly changing the design of the seat which is what was stopping me from buying one. Anyone know when the 2015 will be available?

I saw the new outback design. That's a great step forward. Almost seems like what Ascend did with their fs12t, make it easier to stand and store gear.

The only thing I would change is maybe make a 14' model with a bigger front hatch like the PA. Its really nice to be able to throw a bag of ice and fish in the removable liner and not worry about a fish bag or ice chest. The front hatch they have now doesn't do much for me.

I'd rather a boat with no hatches

My biggest issues with the Outback has always been the seat and the fact that water pools around the drive, making for wet pant legs (may feel good in the warm months, but not during winter!)

This year, Hobie addressed both (supposedly) Seat looks 1000x's more comfortable and they raised the bottom so that it the wet ride should be a thing of the past.

I love my PA, but I can see myself getting an Outback for the quick trips!

too much

I thought the point of having a kayak was to be able to handle it yourself

I can throw my Native over my shoulder and pack it in to places if I need to

the price and weight of these things, might as well just get a boat

Is it that much? That's almost the weight of a PA. That doesn't sound right.

Someone I fished with had an older version and you could carry it pretty easily. I don't see how this one is that much heavier.

I think I read that retail would be around $2,300.

The front hatch is one of my favorite features. It's a great place to put drinks or fish. Tons of room and it's easy to get in and out of.

I thought he was referring to PA14

My outback is like 80 or something

I can launch pretty much whenever I want.

If you are referring to the Outback, the current model weighs less than 80lbs.

It's the PA that's a beast at over 125lbs not including gear.
