The trailer and hull are worth something. I'd have given something for it if I was looking for a project.

I'm rooting for the OP, this is the type of project I daydream about having the balls and space to do, but if that thing has any semblance of structural rot he would need to find some 100 bills stuffed in the livewell to come out money-ahead. Hopefully since it's an 04 and a triton the bones are in good shape, but man those cracks and all that grime from sitting outside in the weather aren't encouraging.

What's your plans to address all of the fiberglass that is cracked along the edges?

It's amazing what a little bleach will do. Looks like a totally different boat in the second picture.

This will be great, I hope it works out for you. Why did the guys at the fiberglass shop say it was totaled?

He said the boat was totaled because it would cost more to fix the fiberglass and gelcoat than buying a newer boat. He "quoted" me 10k to fix it.

I am gonna DIY the entire boat haha

Started removing the gelcoat yesterday, but am having surgery today so I will be unable to work on it for at least three weeks

You can plan your atttack on this thing while your down. Did the boat sink or was it flooded or a theft recovery or something?

Good luck man. Those pics gave me anxiety.

I definitely do not have the "restore" gene.

Looking forward to seeing the finished results.

Looks like Tritons are 100% composite....good luck with surgery and looking forward to the project. I love DIY fix/repair and self maintain all my own stuff ( cars, boat, lawn equip) but free time seems to be getting shorter and shorter so I choose to pay for a lot of stuff I used to do myself. In your instance DYI is only way to go to be cost effective.

It was a theft recovery bought from an insurance company by some random guy with three teeth in Montgomery Alabama. No lie. He had all of three teeth and two of them were chipped in half.

He originally wanted 2,100 for the hull and tandem trailer, but i worked him down to 700 bucks. Trailer is in poor shape and the hull is a mess. Probably over paid, but its such a rare boat that I didnt want to walk away.

If it's all composite then you did good. What's your game plan? Gonna pull the cap or just let it ride?

Began by removing the rub rail and sanding to remove the gelcoat with spiderweb cracks.

Hopefully sometime next week I can start back on it

If you're near BR and need to rewire I'd gladly help in exchange for some white cans.

I love projects like this. Just did a rewire on a 34ft fountain

Pardon my ignorance, but what are these cans that you speak of ?

Also, can anyone tell me what the square metal with four bolts and hole in the center?

Just a guess but it looks like a base to mount something. A Bimini top perhaps?

Beer. White cans are probably Miller Lite.
