Just picked up a Concept A baitcaster. Hopefully I'll get a chance to try it out this weekend. Before purchasing the reel I hadn't hear much about them, the sales rep talked me into it.

I had an Inception reel. Didn't care for it. Thought the build quality was pretty crappy and cheap. Much better out there for the price. The Concept A seems to be made much better. I haven't heard any complaints about it.

The Muse Black and Envy Black rods are great.

I own 3 or 4 Concept C's and 1 or 2 Concept A's. Solid reels. Smooth and fit the hands really well. I own an Omen spinning rod has been solid.

Customer Service is top notch. Broke my Omen on a fish and they replaced it no questions asked. Hadn't even registered it for the warranty

I have an 7'3" M Omen Green. I like it. It is a bit heavy on the action for a 8-15lb rating and I would probably go M-L if I were to purchase again, but it is a good rod.

I had an issue with the cork within 2 weeks of purchase. I contacted customer service and they immediately replaced it with no trouble.

I prefer my Kislter Z-bone and my Dobyns Champion series, but those rods are more comparable to the Envy. I would get another rod from 13 Fishing. Have friends who really like the Concept reels. I ahve not gottent o try one out, but will likely purchase one at some point.

I own 2 concept A's and they're my favorite reels so far. The only other reel I have that compares is my curado.

Is the OB back on?

Whew, that was close. I was in danger of having a real productive day at work.

ETA: from all of the good things I hear about the concept A, I may have to give one a try.

They are great but not ideal for inshore fishing. I have an a, c, and e. They have to be cleaned very well after each use or the body will bubble. They have been good about taking care of warranty work. I haven't had any issues but many have had body issues on them. If you want a concept for inshore get the TX. It's made specifically for inshore fishing. Super smooth and strong reels overall.

I wade fish with my F13 Concept A and no issues. None. In two years. They are ideal for my use inshore fishing. As stated newer models are supposed to have better corrosion resistant materials but I haven't experienced a problem yet.

I've fished with a concept A a few times and enjoyed it. It has a different braking system than my curados, but that kinda kept me out of trouble because I wasn't fooling with it as much.

I haven't either but many have so wanted to put that out there. I love mine but want to trade my E for a TX. I have the E on a Hook Spit Diablo wader light for strictly wade fishing and think I could be more carefree with the TX. The E is unreal but if the coating is damaged on the body the salt could corrode the magnesium body.

I use their green omen 2 spinning rods. I like them alot. I do agree the M is more MH. There is a noticeable difference between M and MH though.

I use a Concept A and C kayak fishing inshore saltwater and like them, no issues with requiring excessive cleaning or "body bubbling". I do a freshwater rinse after every use and no issues so far.

My rod broke on a medium power hookset. Will not buy another.
