I killed my first deer ever on Christmas Eve 1985 sitting beside my father with a crack barrel 20GA 3" 00 buckshot. I was 7 years old at the time. Christmas Eve always brings back that special memory to both of us. We did Christmas with my Dad and family last night and he brought up this same memory during the meal. This memory is now much more special with me having two young sons of my own now. Good stuff.

Good luck to everyone out there today and Merry Christmas to the OB

That's a great story 4LSU2. I remember a Christmas Eve morning back in the mid 80's when my dad and I hunted in Clinton. The field was solid white and I was not dressed for it at all. He gave me his gloves to put over mine. He always put others before himself. I don't know why but that has stuck with me for years. I pass the road where we hunted everyday and think of it.
I'd give anything to have him here now to take my kids or just spend some time with him. Enjoy your dad while he is here. It's a special time for memories for sure.

On a side note, saw a huge 10 point or better standing about 5 feet off the highway on the drive to the lease this morning at 5:40.

About 10 million skeeters in front if the reeds.

Seen 4 good ducks, one grey came close enough. Couldn't find him a second ago, going to look on the way out.

This shite sucks. But I haven't been out this year so far, so it's nice getting back in the marsh..
