Zaxby's chicken is undoubtedly better than Cane's, but Cane's sauce is better than Zaxby's sauce, so that's why some people think Cane's tastes better overall.
But there's a little place called Layne's in College Station that was there before either of them that beats the shite out of both with regards to chicken and sauce. In fact, Cane's is right by Layne's and you can look at the lots and tell who's better. The only time I'd ever go to Cane's in CS is after Layne's is closed.

Zaxbys is disgusting. Not a Canes fan either. But the Zaxby's on Verot in Lafayette was horrible.

I'm white and I'd take Popeyes over Canes 10 times out of 10. Canes is just overhyped by Baton Rouge people. Maybe it makes them feel like BR has culture and dining like New Orleans.

I went to LSU when there was only one Canes. I ate it occasionally then. Ive eaten it maybe 5 times in the last 10 years.
