Your thoughts on outlet stores

Do you ever find deals? Or do you think it's just overpriced junk they can't sell in other stores? I hate when stores are in outlet malls and sell everything at full price.

Polo outlet is absolute garbage. You can't find two shirts that fit the same last time I went.
Brooks brothers is legit.

Nike outlet usually has some good stuff. Tennis shoes every now and then. I've gotten my past 2 pairs of golf shoes there, under $50 too.

I bought a custom fit polo shirt from the Polo outlet mall for $40. Normal price is $90 at Dillard's.

Most are okay, but many are just regular stores that offer huge deals but markup the original prices. I like buying certain work clothes at Van Heusen, but their 70-80% off outlet 'deals' are bullshite. A pair of regular khakis shorts are regular price of $59 and marked down to $25? When in reality they are just $25 shorts.

A lot of outlet stores carry "outlet versions" of the clothing. For example most of the clothes in Brooks Brothers outlet are labeled "346" and aren't as good quality as their standard stuff.
I've found it's better to shop the end of season clearance racks at department stores. Also, around Fathers Day is a good time to load up on clothes due to the sales.

Once in awhile I find a pair of Nike shoes. North face is about the only store I find deals at every time. But, I usually hit the ones down south which sell winter stuff cheap, which helps out me since I live in ohio

St.Augustine outlets out here you can find some really good bargains. The thing you have to know about outlets is that timing is everything. Buy summer stuff in the winter months and winter stuff at the beginning of the spring. Another good time is black Friday and after Christmas. I bought 3 pairs of converse for $30 normally one pair is $50.. It was an after Christmas sale at the converse outlet.

this is what I find as well...
when it all washes out, the reduced price that you pay is pretty fair for the lower grade of clothes that you are buying, though.

I used to live right near Tanger in Gonzales. Most are legit. But the Polo Store and a few others are garbage. Brooks Bros and Under Armour are my favorites. Always caught some good sales.

Outlets back in the day were legit, but now that they are so popular, the manufacturer now make special crap versions to sell in the outlets.
