Jesus Christ. What compelled my dumbass ancestors to move from cool, balmy Prussia (53° N) to this subtropical wasteland.

Remember the opening pages from the Stranger, when the French guy shoots an Arab because he can't bear the heat of the merciless Algerian sun? That was a good 7° north of New Orleans. My people were not designed for this.

So just to be clear, you're blaming the weather on the Jews?

White folks be crazy. If my dumbshit ancestors had just stayed in Ireland and Scotland, I'd be summering in balmy 70° weather, drinking whiskey and pints, fly fishing in the loch or something.

And London is further north than any city in the continental US and most cities in Canada.

Yeah, about 20 miles from down town LA and its a steamy 63 degrees right now.

So glad I no longer live in that insect infested sauna of South Louisiana

Being a descendant of slaves, you would think I could be able to handle this heat better...nope. I'm staying my black arse inside.

Reminds me of the time we went to Hawaii in mid May for our anniversary one year. When I left Birmimgham, we had been through about a week of 90-95+ temps. We went on the Diamond Head Crater hike, and the tour guides were telling us it was going to be a really hot one, to pack extra water. The forecast was like 82. I laughed at him. Heck I worked in my yard for several hours on Saturday, and it was over 90 when I got out there at 9:30. Heat index probably topped out over 105. In jeans. Walking up a hill in shorts was nothing.

New Orleans is at roughly the same latitude as Cairo, so take that for what it's worth.

Your thread is a reminder that someone should have taught your dad how to use a condom.

Yep. We call that April. And October. I was checking the weather app last night for today's forecast. Mainly rain chances. But at 11:15 it was 84. So the hottest it got during the day in Hawaii was cooler than our night time temps in the summer.

I love it down here. It was 102 yesterday and I was floating in a cool swimming pool sipping cold drinks from like 11am to 5:30.

What, and drag furniture around in this heat? Easier to just lay down on the sidewalk and die
