This young lady was injured recently in a training accident. Her mother needs a little help travelling to her , coast to coast, to help her return home for recovery. Go Fund Me Info

In before this devolves to why women shouldn't be soldiers.

First off... how do fall 15 feet and get injured at MCT? The biggest elevation change at Camp Gieger is probably a solid 5 feet or so.
Also, this mom doesn't need any money. The Marines will take care of the shite bag female trainee.

The government already has fiscal/travel rules in place that would allow the mother to fly round trip to get her and bring her back to San Diego, and receive per diem while on travel.

Someone is trying to cash in on the handouts.

It was probably the wall you have to climb up and rappel down?

Is this ignorance or a money grab?

Money grab for sure. The Marines will pay the mom to fly to the bedside of a wounded Marine and will pay for the girl to fly to San Diego for care.
So did she just do a nose dive off the rappel tower or was she climbing the rope on the obstacle course and then just let go?

Shouldn't the military be paying for this?

They are. Mom is just trying to get money.
We had a Marine in my unit who was killed in a motorcycle accident. They flew most his family in from Pennsylvania to California for a memorial service. They were put in a nice hotel and had access to free food. They were accomodated very well.

Indeed.
Your unit had access to a local Casualty Assistance Office that gets involved very early after the incident. The staff there arranges all of the travel, burial, money and other details involved in helping the family and the deceased loved one. These CAOs do great work; and this is very stressful work. I'm told that they often have to see the bodies at the accident site, so this is nightmarish work, at times.
BUT let's be careful! The Casualty Assistance Office gets involved in Deaths, but, I don't know what they do for Injuries.
It might be true that for INJURY, there is no travel pay to see an injured military member. The military WILL pay all medical and re-hab expenses, however, for injuries.

My BIL had several young sailors in his command die in various accidents or misadventures, and as a "ranking" military spouse, my sister was expected to pitch in with helping the families when they arrived to sort things out.. Very tough on her.

Oh I'm so sorry that your sister had a tough time helping people deal with their dead family members.

Just saying it was hard. Not saying it was harder than the people going through it. It's something they don't tell you about military life or marrying into a military life.

The military would pay for that as well. We had a POS Marine who got into a drunk driving accident, killing an old lady, and in the process messing himself up. He was in the ICU for about 3 weeks and his family got paid to come out and stay in a hotel.

That's quite generous of the military. I say that because the POS Marine was probably "not in the line of duty because of misconduct" when he injured himself because he was drunk driving. That Marine may not be eligible for any Govt provided benefits for future medical care arising out of that accident, because of his misconduct.
