I assume so, but are the horses considered officers in the same way K9s are?

After the 2007 title game in the Quarter, I could not find a place to piss and was about to go in my damn pants…and I was 19 and completely shitfaced.

So I sneak behind a dumpster and start peeing. Well, I was so drunk and it was so loud I didn’t hear a damn horse cop trot up behind me. The cop kicked me with his boot softly to let me know he was behind me. Made me take my shirt off and soak up the pee.

That was my lucky LSU shirt and it completely ruined it with black street crud. I had to throw it away and I blame him for us never winning another National Title.

I know, I’m lucky I didn’t go to jail.

To what extent? Kicking a K9 carries a worse charge than kicking a civilians dog. But, it does not equal an aggravated assault against a peace officer charge.

Please, please don't anybody say killing a K9 is the same as killing an LEO.

In the eyes of the law, both the K9 and the human in charge of it are officers of the law. Both are commissioned in the same respect. Same goes for the horses of the mounted police.

Assaulting or killing either of the animals would result in the same charges as assaulting or killing a human LEO.

From my understanding, Police K9's and horses are equally protected and are both considered "cops".

Gave him a big double thumbs down at Orpheus,
had a Hubig's pie shirt on, said he liked my shirt,
did not smile,he kept trying with hand gestures to tell me to smile, he threw a bead toward me, put my hands behind my back and let them fall. Satisyfying personal moment

Probably, but I've got a feeling your sentencing will be much worse if you kill a human over a dog.

No it won't. It would end up with an arse-whipping. But the charges would be animal cruelty cubed. It would not be a life sentence or death sentence..
