Maybe I am stretching....but I think New York City will always remember the great outpouring of support their police/firefighters/etc. got after 9/11 and they are always sympathetic to other places that are having their own issues...and will be first to offer their condolences and support when these things happen.

We sent them a fire truck after 9/11. If there's one thing NYC loves it's their finest and bravest.

David Ortiz when they announced this you could see him start shaking his head and mouth the word, "damn."

I wish celebrities would speak out about this type of violence. They are quick to speak out when someone like Sterling gets killed but stay silent on these issues.

New York gets it. There's something truly magical about that city. I can't really put my finger on it, but it just seems larger than life. I've never left there not feeling more alive than I did before I arrived, and contrary to what many believe - New Yorkers are some of the most genuinely good people I've ever met.

The Yankees will always be the gold standard of professional sports. Incredible organization in an amazing city.

Start spreadin' the news...
