Move to an African country that doesn't keep track of their population for a while.

It would make no sense to steal that much money. First off, you could never have it in cash so it's pointless as they'd track it and lock the accounts. Secondly, it's too much as they'd always try and track you down.

Something like $6-8 million would make more sense. Figure out a way to get it in cash, buy a 50 ft sailboat, and freaking disappear for years in Southeast Asia or the Caribbean only paying cash. After a couple of years you wouldn't have to hide as hard.

The thing here is that if you're going to make off with that much money you better have thought out the plan to get away and stay away once you're gone just as much-if not more-than the plan to get the cash in the first place.

The idea is to quickly travel to a country that would allow you to get off the grid, stay off the grid and yet still live comfortably. We might all think about it being a beach somewhere, but to be honest, you want to focus-at least at first-on level of development.

You want somewhere that allows you the ability to disappear, but also allows you the ability to survive and not worry about accessing funds. Which brings you to the 2nd issue...

Where/how do you stash-and subsequently access-the funds. Obviously you're gonna need to figure out how to liquidate the funds and be able to safely secure and access the funds. That's another task in and of itself. By virtue of your initial hideaway, more than likely a simple debit card with access to a Swiss bank account isn't going to work for you. Likewise you aren't gonna go buy a binka and sling coke or even a chicken farm so you can barter with the locals.

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly...Is whether or not you have the discipline to live your life totally differently than you did before. You're gonna have to assume a new identity, or simply fade into the woodwork. You can't live large in an impoverished country. It'll draw attention. You can't go buying yachts and planes, or even sprawling estates. At least not at first. You'll draw too much attention.

Beyond that, say goodbye to friends, family, loved ones. They'll be watched like hawks forever.

For me, the cost-benefit or risk/reward ratio is just way too high to even bother with.

Yep!

This seems to be my mega corps pinch point for when we will kick someone in the face for being that indebted to us.

John Grisham's plan of "buy a boat and sail the Caribbean" sounds like a winner as long as you can change your name and appearance enough that people can't connect you to your old life.

There are hundreds of islands out there and always boats coming and going.

I would kill myself. That's the only sure fire way to keep them from finding the money.

The reason I said $6-8 mil is because you can't invest it so it has to be enough to last you for life while living as comfortably as you can trying to hide. But yet you don't want to steal any more than you have to to do that as to keep things as 'subtle' as possible.

It's really not that hard to live in the Caribbean on a boat with cash. Many people do that.

Given all that, anyone with access to $100 mil is probably pulling in a solid salary. I don't know why they'd steal $6-8 mil their lifestyle would probably literally degrade given they are no longer working.

15 to 20, probably. $100MM is not something you're going to get away cleanly with.

If you had absolutely no morals, then faking your own death by hiring a patsy to pose as yourself on an overseas international flight with below US security levels then taking said flight down over deep water would do it.

From the article it says they only noticed the money missing after the employee went missing 2 weeks ago. This means the employee could have made it anywhere (legally) before the screws got clamped down.

So I'd liquidate as much as I could and try to make it to Russia. Then I'd offer to pay the money back in exchange for dropping the charges (or extreme leniency on a prison sentence).

I'd then sign book deals and movie deals, and when that dries up I'd start up a financial security consulting firm that "helps" companies not have $100 million dollars stolen from them.

Use the money earned doing that on hookers and blow.
