Scandal
The two top executives of the Wounded Warrior Project — among the largest veterans charities in the country — were fired Thursday after an investigation into accusations of lavish spending on parties, hotel and travel, CBS News reported.
According to the charity's tax forms obtained by CBS News, spending on conferences and meetings went from $1.7 million in 2010, to $26 million in 2014, which is the same amount the group spends on combat stress recovery.
Two former employees, who were so fearful of retaliation they asked that CBS News not show their faces on camera, said spending has skyrocketed since Steven Nardizzi took over as CEO in 2009, pointing to the 2014 annual meeting at a luxury resort in Colorado Springs.

Fired? Shouldn't they be in jail?

I think you could substitute in any large charity. They all flush so much damn money down the toilet it's sickening

This is why I don't donate to charity. This and my heroin addiction

This is why I donate my money directly to the warrior.
The warrior being my dad.
The warrior being my dad.

Yes, if you ask me. It's time to send a message to charitable organizations executives. It's a charity. If you don't want to work as a servant, go somewhere else.

This isn't shocking.

They took the Susan G Komen model for their charity

I fell for the ads and sent them a donation.
A friend told me it was BS about six months ago...

Just tie them up outside a VA and let the Veterans take care of it.

Not all, but many.
Smile Train is excellent. Also, Shriner's Burn Hospitals.
There are other large ones that fit your description, though.

Money changes people, it is very cliché but is proven so many times.

Susan G Komen is way worse. These guys didn't spend the money on killing children.

Well, no, not really. Money is a tool that can be used for many good things.
The love of money is what changes people.

Same here. Although it's getting kind of ridiculous, there's a veteran on every corner of Houston these days.

Better yet, just tie them up outside a VA and let the VA take care of them.

A good one-70% of the money goes to the programs.

I have dontaed to them in he past but haven't since a year or so. I saw this coming.
I would love to support the wounded vets but smelled this out.
Side note on St. Jude's. I do donate there often but they need to save some cash on all the mailings that they do. You are either going to donate or not. A 10 dollar mailing packet won't make me do more. Save the cash.
