at the comments disabled part you quoted

I'm sure the comments would have very much resembled the OT thread about this.

I actually just wrote an article about this myself. It's hard to be a woman today in that we are expected to have (and desire) careers AND families. And it's a tough balance. But, never would I choose to be subservient or simoly taken care of just because it's easier.

You're delusional if you think it's only a black woman thing.

A good deal of them. Went to HS with a lot of people whose mothers fell into this category. A good majority of them made up the mother's club and were always volunteering with stuff. I guess if you didn't have to work, you need something to occupy your time.

I saw that. It's nothing short of prostitution IMO.

That's partly why prostitution should be legal. When it comes down to it, there really is little difference between a hooker and a sugar baby.

Do you truly think its easier though? What if you had to be with a man who expected you to be subservient? This is definitely an opinion, but I think deep deep down many women end up marrying/dating a guy because that is the option presented to them at a point when all variables come together. Her mentality, her needs, her expectations etc. are met in that exact moment, but really this is not the guy that fits her the best, so she ends up settling essentially because this guy has fit in a particular space at a particular time. You could argue the right moment is the sign they should be together, but how many romantic relationships turn sour instantly? I think the longest standing relationships I have heard of never really have the glit and glamour most believe they should have. Just random thoughts though.

Yeah, that sounds so wrong based on recent OT news stories.

That was pretty damn spot on. You wouldn't happen to be a psychologist, would you?

re: Women who look for "sugar daddies" aka "sugar babies
I think it's easier to sit at the country club sipping sweet tea while a nanny minds your children than it is to work, come home and cook dinner, do homework with the kids, bathe the kids, get everyone to bed, and then clean your own house. And should these women find themselves divorced, they'll likely still be taken care of with alimony etc. if you're asking if it's easier to sell your own hopes and dreams to be a second class citizen to a well to do husband, you've got me. I wouldn't know because that's not now, nor ever will be, the kind of woman I am.
