A woman's body was found in an Audubon Park lagoon Monday morning (Oct. 10).
A New Orleans firefighter waded in the lagoon to retrieve the body, which was discovered just before 9 a.m. Dozens of people stopped their morning workouts to watch the operation, which took place on the east side of the park between Magazine and Prytania streets.
The New Orleans Police Department said it was investigating an "unclassified death." A New Orleans Fire Department spokesman was not able to immediately provide additional details about the incident.
Marion Bright, who has lived near the park for more than 59 years, said she's never woken up to a crime scene in her backyard like this. She paused to survey the police activity at the lagoon while walking her poodle Monday morning.
"Sometimes an alligator in there grows big and they have to remove it," Bright said. "But nothing like this."

Have there been any reports of a missing person recently?

My wife ran out there this morning. This is disturbing to me.

judging by where those women are standing in the picture, they must have found her around this area.

My money is this is a drowning involving drugs or alcohol.
I was out there about ten years ago when a drunk guy jumped into the lagoon and drowned

if she's lived there 59 years then she must not have been paying attention a few mornings in the 80s and one sunday afternoon.....

And women wonder why they can never get the physique they desire. Lack of dedication and focus is clearly the source of their problem.
