I keep seeing this on FB and people are bitching the mom chose this. She had terminal brain cancer, she was dead regardless, she made a choice to give life rather than kill and still die herself.

I hate people like you.

And I mean that literally.

People with your mentality are one of the primary roots of many problems in our society.

Not your "negative" or contrarian outlook that you so edgily put forth.

But the fact that you made a judgement based off of a HEADLINE and thought your comments made from a position of self inflicted ignorance were still worth sharing.

Woman had glioblastoma. A wicked bitch of a cancer that ranks pretty high up there on the untreatables. You aren't looking at a recovery with that diagnosis. Break open that 401k, because your life is now nothing more than a scale of quality versus duration of life.

Even with the most aggressive and earliest of treatments, only three out of 100 make it to the 5 year mark. And even they are the outliers. Majority die within 18 months even with treatment.

So her call wasn't abandoning her other kids for the sake of the one.

It was deciding to give her child a chance at an entire and full life rather than hobble along for another six months, letting her other kids watch her waste away, going in and out of the hospital.

The scales were probably slanted for her even more by their religious outlook, increasing their perceived value of an unborn child.

At least try to put yourself in their perspective before you issue judgement on their choices. And if you don't care enough about the person/situation to try.....then simply don't opine on the issue. Not like it has any worth anyway if you skip the first step.

Sad all around. How does someone that young get brain cancer? Hell, how does a child get brain cancer? Cancer is one fricked up disease that does not discriminate.

Don't be surprised. 50% of humanity is below average intelligence.

Facebook is likely a large majority of that group.

Yeah go to FB and type it in the search and look at the comments on any article. They are talking about how she left the kids, how she didn't care about the other kids, etc...

Well that basic info changes the story a good bit.

People on Facebook love to comment and tell everyone how wrong they are. It's almost worse than here.

Which is crazy because on FB...your real name is right next to whatever comment you have made.

I've seen fb friends make comments on stuff and just cringe as I read it.

Well yeah, but I love reading the comments on stories just so I can feel better about myself

No really the comments make me realize that people are fricking stupid most the the time and social media has ruined us. Previously I thought that only a few people were idiots, now I know most people are.

Thank you for judging me solely based on one comment that I made, during which I also said I admired her for her choice.
You made me out to be heartless, which isn't the case. I routinely give to crowdfunding sites for people struggling with diseases or disasters. I volunteer time as well. So I completely do understand how horrible these situations are.
If you read on down the thread, once I understood the type of cancer and the full situation, then I responded differently.
I made 1 comment on 1 thread and you lashed out with hatred.
I certainly didn't mean to offend you or anyone else.
I definitely understand how awful this was for this woman and her family.

I know, go ahead and downvote.

Why don't you read about her cancer and prognosis before being a douche?
