Woman throws boiling water on sleeping ex-boyfriend, lines bed with thumbtacks

A Houma woman is accused of throwing boiling water on her sleeping ex-boyfriend and lining his bed with thumbtacks.
The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. Thursday morning at a residence in the 2600 block of St. Joseph Street.
Lynette Joseph, 36, is accused of throwing boiling water on her sleeping ex-boyfriend. The victim suffered severe burns to his torso, right arm and face. He was transported to the burn center in Baton Rouge.
Following an investigation, detectives say they learned that Joseph also put thumbtacks around the victim's bed before pouring the boiling water.
The suspect fled the scene following the incident.
