So, i'm sure this murder of this woman in her home in front of her 3 children has already been discussed here but for one Baton Rouge woman the murder is a side story to the real story about racist articles in Baton Rouge

WBRZ Facebook story

quote:

The shooting happened around midnight, early Wednesday morning. An assailant shot Hale on Grebe Street, off Scenic Highway and a stone's throw across the railroad tracks from Southern University. When Hale was gunned down, her children were nearby – inside the trailer home.

quote:

Cynthia Coleman WBRZ Channel 2 it is in poor taste that you would use this tragic event to promote your racist agenda by ALWAYS finding a way to drag Southern University into it. There is no news-worthy value by pointing out the University's proximity to this crime. This is your common practice! and you know it is devisive I will not longer follow you! God bless this woman's children!!

Any murder near LSU campus is surely to be reported to be in proximity to LSU.

It seems like "LSU lakes" is mentioned on every episode of The Killing Fields.

I would say its pretty fricking relevant for the parents trying to decide if they want to send their children to Southern.
I mean, no self respecting, upstanding, productive citizen would actually consider SU for their children's education, but it has it's place.

it wouldn't even be a fleeting thought in my mind to be honest. Not sure why that was the focal point of her rant. Who gives a frick?

I'm glad she brought this up to my attention. I honestly thought Southern University was slang for prison education for blacks. WBRZ should be ashamed.

One of the number one rules in local news reporting is proximity.
Your job is to report the events, accurately and thoroughly and to determine who these facts will impact and how it may impact them.

If a murder occurs within a reasonable distance from a university, you have an obligation to report the relationship between the crime and the potentially impacted areas.

That's not true. The only reason they mention Southern is to perpetuate the false theory of black-on-black crime (which we know now doesn't exist). The whites are using this as reason to justify stealing the hundreds of millions of dollars from North Baton Rouge. It's literally like imperialism in Africa.

It's hilarious to think that she believes this tarnishes Southerns sparkling reputation. As if it ever had one to begin with.

yeah it has nothing to do with racism

it's a "man i can't believe the area around a university isn't safe" fearmongering tactic by the media

Where the frick is that? asks this 10 year resident of BR.

Oh, now I have a better understanding of where this took place by using large recognizable city markers.

This bitch is retarded. I can't wait for all of this racist crap to go away.
