This. I'm against welfare abuse. However, welfare and foodstamps are absolutely necessary to keep the truly downtrodden from starving. I know right wingers and others would say that's the church's job, but who the frick are they kidding?
I"m generally conservative, but I understand the need for welfare and the safety net it provides. However, it is fricking bullshite with the people who abuse it.

She was wrong. I agree with her words, but it's entirely wrong to handle it that way. She doesn't know his specific situation. Some people genuinely need it. He probably didn't need it, but she didn't know.

Entitlements are an issue that is problem at the global level (abuse, costly, unintended consequences); however, unless a person is clearly abusing it, then it's not fair to just assume a person is abusing it, without knowing their situation.
Even then, causing a scene in a public just that she's not much better than the trash she supposedly despises, especially since it seemed like she was doing that in front of her own child (in the background).
