Was at the doctors office in the waiting room. There was a young black male with a shirt that said blacks are an endangered species. Next to him was a black woman with a shirt that said "black lives matter."

In comes a middle aged white man with a young adult male that is in a wheelchair and appears to have whatever Stephen Hawkings has but maybe not as severe.

The white guy looks at the black guy and says "endangered species? What does that mean?"

The black guy, who seemed quite nice actually, said that blacks in America are systematically killed by the police and the white mans drugs and that the lack of opportunities for blacks today means that the entire race is vulnerable. He threw out the term "white privilege" and that's when things got heated.

The white man cut him off and said "I might sympathize with you if not for the fact that I would DIE to give my son the same opportunities that you have in present day America".

"Would you like to trade bodies with him? You'd get all that white privilege!"

The black guy paused and said "I feel you. God bless you and your son".

The end of my not so CSB.

Someone was keeping it real, and it wasn't the black guy.

Solid argumentum ad passiones. Guess he couldn't win the argument on the merits.

why would the white man feel like he had to waste his time with that crap. And kind of shitty to use your disabled son as a means to win that argument. Like there's no blacks that has the disease his son has?

What about the white guy seemed "redneck"?

His questioning and response seemed intelligently targeted and not overbroad. Although confronting people in offensive t-shirts is a risky proposition, he sounds like he handled it without being offensive himself.

Confrontative, yes. Offensive, no.

Couple things I would have wanted to say, but would have pussed out on saying:

- Since when is personal drug abuse the fault of others? Where is the personal responsibility?

- 100x more black people are killed by other black people than by police.

- And finally -- drug use, violence, and criminal activity are very closely correlated with people who come from broken homes. Over 70% of black children are raised in single parent homes.

black guy realized it was no use wasting his breath arguing with bigot redneck so he bowed out of the argument and let the redneck 'win', knowing that those who are less educated are more likely to start a physical confrontation during an intellectual disagreement.

I just keep my mouth shut and live my own life. Like the great #7 said, "you can't change what other people think"

I find your choice of words for the two people interesting and telling.

Redneck vs. Black Guy. Any other words for black guy you'd like to use, since you called the white guy a redneck?

I find the term redneck as it is used this day and age very racist and offensive. It is certainly not a term of endearment.
