Thing is still making noise like it is on even when I turn it off. Only stops when I unplug it. Any idea what wrong with it?

like fan running noise? Compressor cycling noise?

It works fine when on?

Are the controls knobs or digital?

If you turn it off and there is still power to the fan and/or compressor then you have a control issue. I'm assuming it's a digital control because this seems to happen a lot with them. The knob control, the rheostat cuts power when turned off.

Is it a one phase or two phase unit (110v or 240v)?

It's like a compressor cycling noise. Stops after awhile. Works fine when on. The controls are digital. It's 240v

Probably the cigarette smoke cycle, once it's clear it'll stop.
