Will Verizon negotiate phone prices

I'm eligible for a phone upgrade. Iphone 4 is free. 4S is $100 and the 5 is $200. I'd like to negotiate for free a 5, anyone have experience with this? Am I better in store with a store manager or with the 1-800 line cancellation department?

Worked in the industry for five years. Ain't happening, even if you threaten to cancel. They're already taking a huge hit on the device for you to sign a two year at that price.

I pay a $183 per month bill on time for the past 2 plus years. I want something extra for my continued business. The consumer can be compensated for their continued business. It's a negotiation. Do you pay full price for a car if you've purchased your last three cars at the same dealership? No, you leverage your relationship.

Nope I worked in management for VZW and that will not happen. Occasionally we would discount the rebate to make a phone free but we eventually stopped doing that also.

People on this site speak of calling there cable provider and threaten cancellation to force a lower cost... I'm not sure why some are so aghast at my question. Life is a negotiation.

Unfortunately, they don't care about the tenure of your service. They think if you've gone a while under no contract, they believe that not being obligated to your service is enough, even though you still pay a monthly charge. All they care about is locking you in for another two years with a discounted phone and bringing in new activations.

In most cases, there are a lot of limitations in choosing a cable provider, beside satellite. Here, it is two, Eatel and Cox. I'll never go with satellite. The infrastructure with cable providers are much more invested in their right of ways than wireless providers and they do whatever it takes to keep someone on their service.

First off you would be an idiot to buy 1 car and not negotiate. If you're good at shopping cars you'll get a great deal if you buy 1 car over a 10 year period from them or 3.

Do you pay full price for electricity? water bill? etc.

Who cares if you're on time? If not they'll just cut you off and stick you in collections.

Thanks for the insight.

Not entitled or a prick, I just prefer not to pay full retail when I don't have to. That thought process can translate through multiple industries.

So you are keeping up with your responsibility. And because you pay on time, you are entitled to free stuff? No doubt you voted for Obama, always wanting more

You're not paying full retail. It's like a thousand dollar phone, you are getting it for $200.
