It's almost all but confirmed that Buick will bring their Opel Insignia wagon to the states (if you don't already know, most Buicks are rebranded Opels). I'm wondering if Americans will ever embrace the station wagon the way we once did.

Would you buy this for your wife? I think it's pimp myself.

Not sure, but I am eagerly awaiting the return of the El Camino.

Suburban and other SUVs have effectively replaced them.

I do love that wood paneling though.

No faux wood paneling on the side=no station wagon. The station wagon was the product of an era. You can't reproduce that.

They never went out of style, just started being rebranded as crossover SUVs.

Station wagons are back in style.

First they came back as the minivan. Now they're back as the crossover.

Those Volvo wagons are pimp, but I think I might have seen one on the road in my life.

Wagons were huge in the 50's and 60's. I know large SUV's have essentially taken over, but let's be honest, a station wagon is a much more practical vehicle for your average soccer mom.

I thought their comeback started with the Dodge Magnum, and continued with "crossovers", but that's just me. Wouldn't drive one.
