Will a local FedEx facility hold a package for you and let you pick it up?

I'm going out of town tomorrow afternoon and some clothing I would like to have for the trip is saying it will be delivered no later than 8PM. Usually, the day a package is supposed to arrive it will say On Truck for Delivery for the whole day then arrive in the evening. Has anyone ever tried to get FedEx to hold a package from being put on the truck and picked it up in person?
and yes, I called but couldn't get in touch with real person.

Ask your neighbor to hold it for you.

I have a roommate that will get it. I would just rather have the clothes I bought for this trip with me instead of missing the delivery by a few hours.

Did you just call the facility and give them tracking numbers?

I haven't done it in a few years but I called the main Fed Ex customer service line and gave them the numbers and then picked it up at the facility, it was when the iPhone 4 came out and I was leaving for a trip like you so I wanted it that morning before I left. I would think they still do it.

I haven't done it personally before, but I have seen sites offer to request for FedEx to have it done for certain types of packages that shouldn't just sit at your door all day.

Yeah, on the track your package screen, there is an option to select a local store to deliver it to instead of being delivered to your house.
