I don't mind tipping (and tipping very well) when it's earned. Bad service though? Not a chance I'm just going to hand over hard earned money.

Thank you, College Humor.

fricking thank you.

Tipping is a terrible, terrible system which relies on the customer choosing to make up for the business owner's shittiness.

Tipping is horrible and anyone who supports the system is a moron.

I'm reducing my tipping from 15% to 10%

The business should have to pay for that

I'm former service and tipping is no doubt OOC in this country.

Corp fast food and stores that hand you shelf products ask for tips. New flat screens are even shoving it in your face asking for a set tip.

He tips on occasion. Mainly when it is with someone who he deals with on a regular basis.

I'll never understand the arguments against tipping. It would lower the quality of service, and the amount waiters make if you ended tipping.

If you suck at your job, you deserve to make less than someone who does it better. And a writer's entire job is to facilitate your interaction with the bar and the kitchen. They don't do anything else.

It is nuts. Why the hell should anyone tip when you go and pick food up from a place?

Everyone is asking for tips now.

Well, frick them. Scruffy likes his change.

It should not be Scruffy's job to pay the waiter what the owner is unwilling to.

Also, Scruffy doubts quality of service would decrease.

But yeah, I bet if everybody started tipping the local McDonald's guy who smiled when he took your order the other cashiers would start smiling.

Then you're insane. If tipping didn't exist and every waiter got paid the same at every restaurant regardless of attitude or quality of service, the good waiters would quit and find a more lucrative job as their income would go down since tips are now artificially capped, and the service industry would flood with McDonald's counter workers.

I hate being forced to cross out the tip line and rewrite the cost.

So now I just sign and ignore it and hope some douche doesnt write in a tip and alter the total

Yep, servers or bartenders would give 0 fricks if they got your order wrong or if you well done steak wasn't cooked enough.
