doesnt really relate to the thread title. just what i thought when i saw this article:

quote:

According to the FIFA World Women’s Rankings, the Australia Matildas are the fifth best team in international women’s soccer. They rank 20 of them, so seems like rounding out the top five is definitely something to be proud of, as it currently seeds them in front of perennial Women’s World Cup contenders like Brazil, Japan, Canada and China.

But then again, the Matildas did just suffer an absolute drubbing at the hands of a boys U15 team… By boys U15 team, I mean the Newcastle Jets under-15 side, and by drubbing…I mean they lost 7-0. SEVEN TO ZERO. Versus kids barely on the verge of high school. Oh, and then they tried to make excuses about it, too.

I wouldn't even think that's in doubt. You'd need to go to middle school for it to be a fair contest. Still you have middle school players that can dunk in game these days.

They just aren't built for physical endeavors. They can't help it. I feel kinda bad for them. They can have all the heart and pride and determination but they are limited by their bodies. Gotta be frustrating for them. It's like laughing at a midget for sucking at basketball.

What really must piss them off though is they aren't smarter than dudes either. They can't even fall back on that.

Are women's sports subsidized by governments? I'm baffled as to who watches that garbage, 99.99999% of women absolutely blow at all team sports and the 00.00001% are basically dudes who were born without penises.

Sometimes it's better to go ahead and pay women the same rate or more, even if you could pay them less for the same task.

When I was in 5th grade we had a very good boys basketball team. A lot of the team got pretty cocky, so the coach bought in a girls 8th grade team that had won their league and was undefeated 3 years in a row for a scrimmage.

It was close, but they beat us. It taught us a lot about humility.

So it works both ways...

Kinda.

Title IX forces schools to take away scholarships from revenue generating mens sports to provide scholarships to women's sports that no one gives a shite about.

A guy I work with played on the Ruston HS boys team back in the day when the LA Tech women were a national powerhouse.

They would bring the women in for a closed scrimmage against the boys a few times each season. He said they always had a few women who could shoot but the boys ran all over them mainly due to strength, speed and jumping ability.

I heard a story on ESPN last year that one of the Williams sisters has a male training partner. The guy regularly smokes her, and he doesn't even compete professionally.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Sexes_(tennis)

quote:

1998: Karsten Braasch vs. the Williams sisters[edit]
Another event dubbed a "Battle of the Sexes" took place during the 1998 Australian Open[33] between Karsten Braasch and the Williams sisters. Venus and Serena Williams, aged 17 and 16 respectively, had claimed that they could beat any male player ranked outside the world's top 200, so Braasch, then ranked 203rd, challenged them both.

quote:

Braasch was described by one journalist as "a man whose training regime centered around a pack of cigarettes and more than a couple bottles of ice cold lager."[34] The matches took place on court number 12 in Melbourne Park,[35] after Braasch had finished a round of golf and two beers.

quote:

He first took on Serena and after leading 5–0, beat her 6–1. Venus then walked on court and again Braasch was victorious, this time winning 6–2.[36] Braasch said afterwards, "500 and above, no chance." He added that he had played like someone ranked 600th in order to keep the game "fun."[37] Braasch said the big difference was that men can chase down shots much easier, and that men put spin on the ball that the women can't handle. The Williams sisters adjusted their claim to beating men outside the top 350.

Martina Navratilova was the world number 1 player at her peak. Her coach was a former journeyman pro who was a lefty.

She would play practice sets against him when she had a lefty coming up in her portion of the draw. She had trouble winning individual points and routinely lost the sets 6-0.

I don't think you quite caught the point of the OP.
