Why is there no "Near East"?

We have a "Far East" and a "Middle East", but no "Near East". Where would this be located, Austria, Greece, Poland, etc?
I am guessing these terms came from as far back as Marco Polo times.

The Near East and Middle East pretty much are the same area. The Middle East is just the term in common usage.

There is a "Near East".

No. The term Middle East came about in the very early 1900s, like 1904, by a British naval officer.
