Why is Louisiana so dirty?

Everytime I come back it looks worse. Huge pot holes on most roads, road kill all over the side of the road, trash in the grass. I mean do people here just not care? The air generally stinks in most places. Leaving this state was the best thing I have ever done. Once you experience something else, you will never move back.

That tends to happen. Louisiana is a great place to visit and an average place to live.

If you come back by way of BTR airport, you pretty much drive through the nastiest part of town right when you leave the airport. There was trash everywhere on the side of the road when I came back from a trip last wknd.
Outside of that area it's not as bad tho.

I was driving down Tchoup the other day and the driver of the truck in front of me tossed a water bottle out of the window. It's just how people are here. Not me. Not you. But a lot of people don't give two fricks.

Reading the threads about trash after tailgating gave me lots of insight into this. According to a surprising number of people, the answer is they believe their tax dollars go to clean it up, therefore they are entitled to do as they please.

I live just outside of Little Rock. I understand nobody wants to go on a family vacation to Little Rock, but the bad parts are as clean as the good parts of Baton Rouge
