The regulations are always stricter for spirits. Why is this?

Because it's (generally) stronger.

More alcohol content; thus, it has a higher trashiness rating than wine or beer.

How so? Give me a specific. There are stricter restriction on the manufacture of distilling spirits vs fermenting alcohol like beer or wine. There are reasons for that related to the potential for poisoning, though I would argue that a person should have the same liberties for home consumption as applies to fermenting wine or brewing beer.

Any clownshow can serve beer or wine but getting a liquor license is much more intense.

Dumbass conservative Christians want to ruin everything. Normal people have only been able to pry beer and wine out of their grasp so far.

it is all political. living in the bible belt has taught me that some are staunchly opposed to the sale/use of alcohol, while the opposite end of the spectrum wants easy and unrestricted access. politicians eventually strike up a compromise and allow beer and wine to be sold while keeping hard liquor more heavily controlled. many states allow beer sales everywhere, while restricting liquor sales to state-sponsored stores.

Not in Louisiana. every gas station at least has pints.

Texas has stupid booze laws. I work grocery, drug, convenience, and package and it's so weird coming from seeing liquor in Walmart to having 2 separate stores in one building, one liquor, one wine. Bible Belt bullshite.
