Imagine a BR loop with $10 toll to go across entire length.

Poors would avoid it. I could look at google maps traffic gridlock on I10 bridge while Im going 80 on the toll loop.

It would be glorious.

Toll roads are notoriously corrupt. Can you imagine how bad it would be here?

Cancel those out and Louisiana doesn't have enough people left to pay the tolls for it.

If I-12 were tolled, it would generate a ton of money.

Yep where does the federal money go now for the highways? Definitely not the Louisiana roads. I can only imagine where that toll money will end up

People dislike tolls because they can "see" and "feel" the money they are spending. Even though you can avoid toll roads, but not taxes, taxes are taken out before you can touch the money so the human mind is more ok with it. It is illogical, but that is the answer

I used to go to fourchon and grand isle 15-20 times a year, sometimes twice a week, now that they are no longer part of the state of Louisiana and require you pay a fee to go there, they no longer exist to me as well as many others.

you liberals want to pay 90% of you income to taxes and fees and toll roads should be forced to live on minimum wage for a year and you would find out what its like for most of this country trying to simply survive and put food on the table.

still worth every $1 they charge IMO. HCTRs are worth every penny they collect.

When the CCC had a toll, it was able to provide for its own maintenance, maintenance crew, patrol division, and engineers without a dime from state and had a surplus.

Take away the toll, and the already stretched thin state bridge budget can't cover the cost of yearly painting it.

Can't install tolls on federal interstates.
