Why the hell does Whole Foods sell rain barrels here in BR?

If they get us arrested, we won't have any money to overspend in their shop, will we?

I wonder who's buying all of those overpriced rain barrels from Whole Foods since they're illegal.

Because if people did that, they wouldn't rely on the city water as much, this resulting in less income for the city government.

And to other posts, it is illegal in some areas.

Which states? I've been in AZ for a while and it seems as though it is encouraged here. Is this geared to industrial or commercial applications?

Does the government? And, you don't own the air you breath either.

Yeah, but other businesses and people aren't dependent on that air. If everyone caught rainwater, then it could lead to a worsened drought and destroy natural habitats.

Has to do with the natural irrigation of land or something. Basically people who collect it on a very mass scale can really screw up the surrounding environment. This applies more to farmers who would collect it on a mass scale then someone collecting in a barrel or two.

The laws are becoming more permissive, but Utah and Colorado are two that had outlawed it. Not sure if that has been changed though.
