Why is golf guy more respected than softball guy?

Both take something that's supposed to be recreational fun and turn it into overblown misery for themselves and everyone around them, yet softball guy is looked at as a complete moron by most of society while golf guy is not.
Golf guy shows up in overpriced neon shirts, white belts, curses at himself on every bad shot, thinks he owns the course, etc. Yet your typical 30 handicap golfer with a beer and normal attire is looked down upon and not wanted by any at the course.
Lay off you suburban golf pricks. The game is supposed to be fun. I'm sorry I just started playing the game. I guess I'm not allowed to enjoy it softball guy wanna be! I try and play at times the course isn't crowded and on the cheaper public courses yet I always encounter some prick in a clown outfit trying to get in a two hour round and I'm the only reason he sucks at life.

golf is a sport of gentlemen and kings. It is a very prestigious sport. Softball is not so much

Because anyone can play softball. Not everyone can lace a golf ball down the middle of the fairway. It's also a great way to hang out with business associates outside of work. You can also take your kids out. Did you think this thread through prior to posting?

As long as you are keeping up with the pace of play and not being aloud obnoxious douche, I really don't care what your handicap is.

The key to enjoying softball is finding a league that avoids having those douchey/overserious types.
My league is mostly older baseball players who just love going out there, having fun, and drinking beer.
I love spending time outside on a freshly cut field and playing on a team of guys who share my love of sports.
Softball is 1 of 5 sports that I play through the year. I certainly am not married to the sport
