Why has this shoe suddenly become popular with Men?

I was at the Atlanta airport yesterday and I saw seemingly straight males with this pair of shoe and I'm scratching my head as to why and how something so feminine can now be so popular with men. I saw at least a dozen people wearing this god awful shoe yesterday. Who on the OT is confident enough to sport these in public?

Funniest one had wrangler jeans, large belt buckle, cowboy hat, and sporting this feminine looking shoe monstrosity. This is what caught me totally off guard.

Horry Shite, I just looked up the brand to see if these were in fact "men's" shoes and that shoes is $900. I need to throw some shite together and let people throw money at me to look ridiculous.
