Why does Imperial Japan not get the same rep as Nazi Germany

They were absolutely brutal to the Chinese, Phillipinos etc. Tortured/experimented on American POWs. In some cases cannibalized American POWs. Yet Japan doesnt nearly have the same stigma as Nazi Germany.

because of our racism we dont want to give credit to little yellow people as being as much of a threat as whites

Maybe it's a cultural thing. Much of Nazi victims are Europeans with western culture (including European Jews), and Americans identify better with them compared to Chinese and South-East Asians who became the victims of the Japanese. I'm sure the opposite is true, Japanese brutality would be more prominent than the German in Chinese education

Because they make better porn

What Japan did in China should be a stain that can't wash off but they got a pass somehow.

Japanese -- blurred out

Probably atom bomb guilt. We fricked them up.

Because it wasn't in Europe. No one cared or cares today what happens in Asia. There also wasn't a systematic genocide (to my knowledge) like the Nazis and Stalinists had. Their brutalities against the Chinese weren't the norm.

I honestly don't know. Maybe it had to do with the Cold War with Germany being split in two, rationalizing NATO, and the need to stabilizing Europe after 2 World Wars in about 3 decades time.

You'll have to forgive him. He smokes the pot too much.

Death camps, gas chambers, ovens.
And we westerners identify with and even know victims of the Nazis more so than the Chinese victims.

My mother is deathly afraid of Japanese people for what it's worth

They didn't quite systematically try to exterminate an entire people. The Japanese were cruel and unrepentantly did some fricked up shite, but Hitler somehow managed to outdo them. Also, I think something about cultural proximity makes the Germans stick more in people's minds.
