For different reasons.
Sometimes it's simply because it's the side of the argument I'm on or the complete opposite and I feel like you deserve a downvote.
But sometimes I'll see a post with a really large discrepancy (like, say, single-digits as opposed to 30+ in the other direction) and I'll pile on or I'll give them a pity frick. There's no rhyme or reason.
If you have an avatar/sig that's really depressing I might just give you a downvote anyway.
