kinda what i was thinking... very similar to when you know you're fixing to get told a whopper of a lie and they start their story out with "man, this is no bullshite" or "i aint even gonna lie"

I'm sure I've done that before - it was an attempt to ward off the smart aleck responses. But it's one of those phrases that could mean whatever you want depending on context. Kind of like fuhgetaboutit !

I'm okay with Honest Question. I worry more about when I ask someone a question and they reply with "I gotta be honest..."
