How does adding "point" after "price" change the definition whatsoever? Are they just trying to act smart?

Price point- a point on a scale of possible prices at which something might be marketed.

Now mark this thread as delete before everyone realizes how ignorant you are.

Depends on what the items are.

Hookers and blow....have no need to mention price point.

New home or car....has a price point.

It's a marketing and business term. Get back to polishing your truck nuts before the plant calls you in to work a swing shift.

You need to bite the bullet on this and understand that "Price Point" is a mission critical term in the business vernacular. So unless you are willing to think outside the box and come up with a new term that I can run up the flagpole, your might as well accept it. Let's circle back on this Tuesday and see what you come up with.

If a guy pulls up to Don's Wholesale to buy a jacked up F250 repo and asks the salesman "what is the price point", then it is stupid.

However, if the Cost Accounting Staff and Marketing Department at Ford use the term "price point" in regards to setting MSRP then it is not stupid.

With that being said, at the end of the day you just have to admit that the price point, well it is what it is.

Like most of these business phrases and buzzwords, there is a correct way to use it but it is most often used incorrectly by people trying to sound smart.

In all honesty OP, it's just a retarded arse saying business people like to say, and now non-business type people are wanting to use it. Like the word exfoliating in women's commercials, sure it means something, but it's stupid. Merica, frick yea
