Why do 2.5 star hotels always blare the TVs during breakfast?

Is it like a rule or something? It makes me so damn grumpy - do they not understand the concept of feng shui? Why wouldn't entry level hotels aspire to be more like a Westin or Hyatt or W and have classy lounge music playing softly with the dumb TVs on mute?
This morning I muted the two TVs and the dumb Hampton Inn kitchen maid acted like I'm the a-hole. Nobody cares about the local news in Fargo, nobody staying at this dumb hotel is from here.

I've been to numerous hotels have never seen that.
And I'm talking low life hotels like clarion, Holliday inn, Wyndham, best western, etc.

You're doing it all wrong, I ALWAYS have my ear buds in with whatever my flavor of the moment is playing on pandora or spodify while I fill my Starbucks aluminum mug up with joe and grab two big cups of OJ and find my table where I'm about to feast at
