Why cant you buy simple gas cans anymore?

You know. Simple 5 gallon red plastic with a tube.

I dont want all these locks and flow regulators and shite.

The ones the EPA outlawed? Apparently they leak too many fumes.

Which is weird because I'm pretty sure I spill more gas with the new ones than the old ones could have possibly ever leaked.

Yep, I try and take all of that shite out when possible and try to put it back as close to basic tube form as possible.

I end up just using a funnel and pour directly from can with no spigot

This! It is borderline a two person job to fill a lawnmower. I know damn well I spill more now than when I had an old metal can with a flexible spout.

there was a poster on here that linked a place where you can buy the non valved spigots a while ago. i dont remember who.

I couldn't design a cap that spilled that much when filling a tank if I tried.

Hi-Flo gas can kit... you can get them for less than $10. You take off all that other bullshite, install the hi-flo nozzle, drill a little hole and install the vent. I have them on my cans.
