Because they aren't involved in the Middle East? Just a thought...

ETA: let the downvotes rain.

Not just leaders, but all the armchair warriors advocating for war from the comfort of their living room.

You've never been to Denver. If So, you wouldn't make such a ridiculous claim.

Canada is quiet. You never hear of them getting involved in wars, flexing their muscle, and they don't try to take care of other countries problems.

Population of Canada 35 million (Less than the population of California spread across a land area larger than continental US)
Population of the US 319 million

Besides the French in Quebec who want to be their own country they have little to squabble over within their borders. Except of course the occasional hockey match riot.

Some of y'all need a history lesson.

Canada was bled white - like the UK, France, and Germany - in WW1. They were the cream of the crop of the British Empire troops in the last two years of the war, and their casualty rate showed that.

They lost more people as a percentage of their population in WW2 than did the U.S. (and much, much, much more in WW1), and they were in the war two years longer than the U.S.

They fought with us and both Iraq and Afghanistan and were one of the few to actually be willing to go and take the fight to the Islamists.

We have a lot of allies who should be willing to take on a greater share, but Canada isn't really one of them.

You're an idiot if you think it's bc of the UK. Canada would have probably been invaded already if it wasn't for US being right next door.

I see NY and NOLA in your name and I see why you think like that, you're a liberal pussy.

You strike me as the kind of guy that knows lots about history. By who?

I can see why you'd think that. How's the view from the double wide?

Which school? I'll try to make sure none of my family sends their kids there for history lessons.

Never mind. Doesn't check out. Teachers don't have nice houses.

Not LSU I hope. Do you typically teach that Canada wasn't a part of the British Empire?

I would ask if you've ever considered a change of occupation, but considering how liberal arts professors can teach literal falsehoods these days, I already know that answer.

I get the sentiment, but when was the last time US went to war to protect Canada, and Canada wasn't already fighting?

The point is, if you take the United States out of the picture and Mexico is the only country south of Canada, they would have to actually shift more of their budget towards military spending and would likely assume more global responsibility as it pertains to military actions.

Canada can be Canada because the United States is their neighbor. Otherwise, Canada couldn't be the same country it is today.

Canada would be cuck-central if it weren't directly above Daddy.
