Why are there no Sizzlers anywhere other than Ca?

Years ago there used to be one in Hammond.
Now it looks like all of the franchises are located in California.

Houston has a London Sizzler.....not quite the same, but still good.

There used to be one on College Drive where the IHOP is now. We used to stop there and eat after every LSU football game in the 80's.

I think I still have a 20 year old gift card that I never used for the one they had at one time in Thibodaux.
I can't remember if it was a Sizzler or a Western Sizzlin though.

We used to go to Western Sizzlin after Church on occasion when I was a kid but that was a treat for us. My kids would turn their nose up at that place today. It would be like taking them to get a steak at Ryan's.

In Greater New Orleans, I can tell you, one Sizzler location, they were fairly easy to spot, is now Acme Oyster House on Veterans Blvd. near Causeway. Another is the Five Happiness banquet facility (now up for sale) on Carrollton Ave. and a third is on the West Bank Expressway across from Oakwood Mall. Not sure what's in that one, now.
Western Sizzlin' was a staple in my family in later childhood and teen years. It WAS a bargain, the steaks were acceptable, and those big-asses baked potatoes and soft butter!!! They were much more distinctive looking, with the side entrance. "Ours" was on the West Bank Expressway in Marrero at Garden Road, it's a cigarette store now.
Clearview Parkway location is now Jaeger's; one in Metairie is in the neighborhood, on Edenborn, I want to say, it's a bridge (card game) club. There had to be one on Williams Blvd. in Kenner as we pass it on occasion, just don't remember what's there, now.
There may still be one on the I-55 Service Road in Jackson, MS. We've stopped just for old-times' sake.

That was the Western Sizzlin that we used to go to. We also used to go to Mochetta's Smorgasbord in front of Wynhoven and West Jeff Hospital on the West Bank Expressway.
