Why Are Sidewalk Fans Always the Most Militant When It Comes to Trash Talk?

I'm watching the Bama/Auburn game next to a Bama fan who is hurling profanities and militant trash talk to the Auburn loyal and anyone else who he thinks will listen to him.
It is quite obvious to me he did not go to college any where, much less the University of Alabama.
Why are sidewalk fans always the biggest douchebags when it comes to trash talk?
I know a lot of you guys here couldn't get into college, so I thought I'd ask. I know some plant workers in Baton Rouge who are in the same vein.
What gives, sidewalk fans?
It is quite obvious to me he did not go to college any where, much less the University of Alabama.

Mostly the case. Most LSU fans I know care but aren't obsessed about it.

Because their health and happiness ride on the coattails of college kids playing a ball game every year

How do you know he didn't go to college? Lots of trashy people go to lower tier sec schools like bama and lsu

The people who actually went to the school are probably less inclined to make an arse out of themselves and embarrass the fanbase that they'll be part of their entire life. The sidewalk fan likely has no such qualms.

For people that went to college, it's a fun game to go back and forth messing around. For people that didn't go to college, it is all they have and they take it extremely seriously
