Why are people having children they can't afford?

I feel like it's common sense: Wait until you're financially stable before having children.
But you never hear this. You don't hear it in school, in church, in the media... or anywhere. How is this not a concept that's drilled into every kid before they graduate high school?
I'm not talking about people with children who fall on hard times (lost job, spouse dies, recession). Life can throw you curveballs. I get it. I'm talking about people who are struggling to make ends meet and decide to bring children into this world.
And this isn't a class warfare argument. You don't have to be "rich" to give a child a good life. Personal responsibility isn't about rich or poor. You can live a very modest life and fully support your family.

The ones who have children who they cannot afford are usually too dumb to figure out birth control
Posted on 4/25/17 at 2:26 pm to Pecker
because people in general are dumb as shite and have zero financial planning understanding
And yes, big daddy government being there with our tax $ doesn't help

ive always said if you are in a certain income bracket you should be eligible for a one time payment of $10,000 TAX FREE by the government if you get your tubes tied or a vasectomy.
This program would save the future millions if not billions.

No logical reason to have a baby, most illogical people want babies.

it's the secks man.
if making a baby was as painful as say slamming your hand in the car door. there would be a lot less reproducing.

Define "financially stable" as it relates to having children.

I was thinking as well until the "heat of the moment" got me and Mrs. Hogwarts. Nine months later, Baby Hogwarts was born.

Because the government pays them to. If the government stopped giving them more money and free healthcare, rent, and food, they'd stop.

why do tribes in Africa have kids? Survival and carry on lineage

Part of it has to do with the family someone comes from. Some families put a lot of stock into having babies.... As if it is expected that a woman has a baby by a certain age. To them, it trumps everything else.

The safety net provided by the government enables them to just lay around and frick all day because they don't have to work to pay their bills.

If we fixed this one thing so many problems would go away

There was a run of kid threads on here this past week and I got downvoted so hard for asking how are some of these folks affording the bills for their children.
To raise a kid costs around 250K over the span of 18 years or 13,889 dollars per year per child.
The US median household income is 55k I believe.
2 Children almost puts you halfway there....
