Why are "mandela effect" videos so popular lately?

Just noticed this on youtube. New trendy topic? Old news? People smoking too much weed?

Many of the videos imply that someone/something is going back in time and editing movies, books, Bible, advertising, etc, etc.
Videos are entertaining to say the least. 8/10 conspiracy theory.

People are at starting to notice the differences and are reporting accordingly. Prior to the internet, there was no simple and effective way to communicate a discovered Mandela Effect--C3PO's silver leg, "Luke/No, I am your father", Berenstain/Bernstein Bears--to the masses.
I found one myself, always thought I was eating Sherbert as a kid. Now it's all of a sudden known as Sherbet.
Get woke.
Just kidding, I don't really think that there is a glitch in the matrix or colliding multiverses. But it is a very interesting study of "mis-remembered" events by a large group.
