Had to have a Trapper Keeper just keep from being a social pariah. On the other hand, you were not a cool kid unless you also had the original Quicker Clicker Mechanical pencil with the side clicker lead advancement mechanism.
We had an entire black market of grade school contraband that you could access only with .5mm lead sticks as currency.

Anyone ever make a trapper keeper pillow? Take a #2 pencil, pop a hole in the corner, blow in some air, and instant head rest pillow...nap time!

How did you people keep this stuff for years? I'll admit I was probably the most unorganized kid ever, but I absolutely destroyed any binder, even the zip up mead binders, in a year. From shoving them in my back pack, the rings would be all misaligned and would tear paper. I got a new one every year with my parents hopes of me suddenly being organized getting crushed only a few weeks later.

I had a Nike one too all black w white Nike & logo. I loved the band Boston back then (Still do) and wrote Boston down the side in white out...only problem misspelled Boston. (sigh)
